Ford House was originally built in 1864 as a Victorian sporting hostelry. It has recently been renovated and converted, and today is a 3 star guest house. Located in the small village of Ford, at the southern end of Loch Awe, and a couple of miles north of Kilmartin Glen, it is off the beaten track in quiet yet spectacular surroundings.
We offer comfortable bed & breakfast accommodation, warm and friendly hospitality and great food all year round.
Ford House is ideally situated, whether you want to spend a relaxing time visiting the local attractions in Kilmartin Glen, walking the local forest paths or exploring the wider area of Argyll & Loch Lomond.
Most of our rooms are either en-suite or have a private bathroom and all are very spacious. The extremely large family suite is made up of two separate but adjoining rooms sharing their own bathroom and private hallway; it takes 5 people with the possibility of adding an extra bed for a child or 'small' adult!
All rooms have tea & coffee making facilities and most also have colour TV.
Our breakfasts are always prepared with the best quality ingredients: we use free range eggs and butter, organic yoghurt and Scottish sausages. Delicious locally smoked kippers are also usually available, but to avoid disappointment do mention at the time of booking. A full vegetarian breakfast is also available, and for this we provide Linda McCartney's tasty sausages (none other will do!). If you have any other special dietary requirements please ask, we will do our utmost to accommodate you.
At Ford House we try to be as ecofriendly as possible, so smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises. All the cleaning products we use are environmentally sound (our favourites being Ecover) and even the decorating is done with natural ecofriendly paints and oils.
